Buy tickets for the PTA's Halloween Partyon Thursday, October 26 from 6-8 pm at Hoover. This party is open to all Hoover students. Tickets are $15 and will be on sale during lunch on 10/17, 10/8, and 10/19 (cash only) or online under Event Tickets at https://hhmspta.membershiptoolkit.com/. Drinks, Potomac Pizza, and candy will be included in the ticket cost. Questions or interest in volunteering can be sent to anne.glynn@gmail.com. Let your student(s) know about the two opportunities to participate in the 2023-2024 National PTA Reflections Art Contest, "I Am Hopeful Because...": entering a theme idea for the 2025-2026 contest (due 11/3) and submitting art for this year's contest (due 11/17). Hoover's Counseling Team is looking for parent volunteers to join the student led Hoover No Place for Hate Committee. The committee's mission is to join the Anti-Defamation League's No Place for Hate movement and create sustainable positive change at Hoover. Its first task is to rally the school community together to sign the No Place for Hate Pledge. Meetings will be held monthly on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15 pm starting 10/11. Students, families, and community members are invited to the 5th annual MCPS STEAM Festival on 10/21 from 10am-1pm on the campus of Wheaton HS and Thomas Edison HS of Technology. The Festival is a showcase of how the STEAM fields of study (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) are integrated and accessed here in Montgomery County. The Beverly Farms Elementary School PTA is looking for 8 student volunteers to help with Club Beverly Farms (CBF) on 10/21 from 5:30-8:30 pm at Beverly Farms (8501 Post Oak Road). CBF is a party for elementary school students where they can dance, participate in games, crafts, and more. Students will help run activities.
